Family of Columbiana Co. homicide victim offering reward

By Ali Myers

COLUMBIANA COUNTY, Ohio —

The family of a Columbiana County homicide victim is offering a $20,000 reward in hopes of bringing the killer or killers to justice.

71-year-old Gerald Klusch was first reported missing on Sept. 29, 2011.  His bloody truck was found the next day, but no sign of Klusch.  In November, the family offered a $20,000 reward, and days later, several leads led to detectives finding Klusch's body in a wooded area off Hazel Run Road near Salineville.

Nearly seven months later, the family is once again offering a $20,000 reward.

In a press release issued to NEWS9 on Friday, Detective Andy Sweeney with the Columbiana County Sheriff's Office said, "We urge anyone inside or outside the community to come forward if you have any information regarding Gerald Klusch's death. Any new lead, whether large, or small - is critically important to our investigation."

A statement from Gerald's wife, Leah, said " We're hopeful that the reward and news conference will bring forward new information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for my husband's death."

A news conference will be held on May 2 at 2 p.m.  at the sheriff's office in Lisbon. Any information must be provided on or before Sept. 1.
