Fire damages Belmont Co. home

BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio —

A Barnesville home was damaged when fire broke out Monday night.

The fire started at the West Church Street home around 11 p.m.

Crews battled the flames until around 2 a.m., and there is extensive damage in the basement.

A family of six lives in the home, but they were not there when the fire started, investigators said.

Officials said the fire does not appear to be suspicious but the state fire marshal will be called in to investigate.

There were no reported injuries.
