Fire marshal to investigate 2 Belmont Co. blazes

By BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio

BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio —

A state fire marshal will investigate two separate blazes in Belmont County.

Overnight, fire ripped through a home on Hall Street in Maynard. Initial reports suggested the fire may have been started by a wood burner.

There were no reported injuries, and fire departments from Barton, Maynard and Harrisville responded.

The second fire started early Monday at a structure on Lincoln Avenue in Barnesville.

Barnesville fire officials said damage was extensive and they are working to find out who owns the structure.

Three different area fire departments responded to the blaze.

Officials said the Ohio State Fire Marshal's Office will investigate both fires.
