Jefferson County 911 dispatch told News9 the fire started around midnight.
Four different fire departments fought the blaze. No one was injured.
Church Pastor Randy Sells told News9 he couldn't believe the news.
" I thought it was a dream; I was waking up from a nightmare. We've been watching our church burn to the ground," said Sells.
The fire marshal is expected to be in Monday to investigate this case.
