The entire NEWS9 viewing area is under a flood watch as heavy rain continues to fall across the Ohio Valley.
The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh issued the flood watch just after 11 a.m. and it remains in effect through Tuesday evening.
A flood watch means there is a potential for flooding based on the current forecast. People should monitor the latest weather forecasts and people who live in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
A flash flood watch continues to be in effect for Tyler County through 7 a.m. Wednesday.
The weather services said rainfall from 1 to 2 inches may cause flooding of creeks and streams as well as low-lying areas.
The flood watch includes Tuscarawas, Carroll, Columbiana, Harrison, Jefferson, Guernsey, Belmont, Noble and Monroe counties in Ohio, as well as Hancock, Brooke, Ohio, Marshall and Wetzel counties in West Virginia.
