Former court clerk found guilty of theft in office, tampering with records

HARRISON COUNTY, Ohio --

 

A former Harrison County court clerk could serve years in jail after a jury found her guilty of theft in office and tampering with records.

 

Cathy Rose faces a maximum sentence of 4 1/2 years in jail.

 

Special prosecutor Chris Berhalter said thejury deliberated for a little more than an hour and came back with the verdict late Friday night.

 

During Rose's two-day trial, the state called eight witnesses to the stand and the defense called two.

 

Rose worked as the chief deputy clerk for county's juvenile court until January 2011.
