Former Hancock Co. high school stadiums closer to demolition

HANCOCK COUNTY, W.Va. —

On Friday, Newell Memorial Field and Jimmy Carey Stadium came one step closer to demolition.

The Hancock County Commissioners had a company come out to the assess the scrap-metal value of both stadiums.

Commissioners said the company came up with a figure that the county can get for the scrap, and later, commissioners will bid it out.
