Friend plans memorial for Craigslist victim

The friend of a man who appears to be the first of three who were shot and killed after answering a Craigslist help-wanted ad plans on holding a life celebration Friday evening.

Summer Rowley tells the Akron Beacon Journal that 55-year-old Ralph Geiger was a father figure to her.

Authorities believe jobseekers were killed after being lured with a Craigslist ad for a bogus farm job in southeast Ohio. Investigators in the case discovered Geiger's body Nov. 25 on the same property in rural Noble County where another body was found.

Rowley says she collected Geiger's ashes because most of his family lives out
side of Ohio.

She plans on holding the memorial in Portage Lakes, Ohio, where Geiger was well-known as a handyman.
