Global Company Comes To Wheeling

Dozens of people packed into the refurbished Orrick building to hear the big news. A global company, Williams Lea, is partnering with the Law firm Orrick, Herrington and Sutcliffe to expand and bring more jobs to wheeling.

"After 12 months of negotiations we are here to announce that we are going to build a business process out sourcing center, said CEO of Williams Lea, Tim Griffith.

Orrick moved into the refurbished building four years ago and consider the move a success and now want to expand with Williams Lea.

"People didn't see what technology can do. That was part of why people were critical of us. The other thing is West Virginia. People don't understand how great it is here, said CEO of Orrick, Ralph Baxter.

Williams Lea is a London based company that employees more than 6,000 people. Griffith says he wants to build on that number right here in this wheeling office.

"Knowing that we have the workforce to do the production that needs to be done. They won't come here just because we are good people and we're nice people, we're productive, said West Virginia Governor Joe Manchin (D).

But for Griffith it was a combination of the friendly city and the hard working people.

"I met with Orrick a year ago, they brought me to Wheeling. I was very impressed by the local community, the warmth of the welcome I got, the dedication of the working people, said Griffith.

Griffith says he believes the move will keep expanding and bring in more jobs.
