Golden Bears take on Wellsville at new Oak Glen stadium

By NEWS9

NEW CUMBERLAND, W.Va. —

The Oak Glen Golden Bears take on Wellsville at their new stadium on the campus of Oak Glen High School Friday.

It features artificial turf and was built, along with a similar stadium at Weir High, as part of a bond levy that was passed by voters in Hancock County.

Head coach Ian Whittington said he wants to keep players focused on the game to make sure the Golden Bears pull out a win.

"It's a very historic moment," said Whittington. "I took them through this for the last two days. I keep reminding them that with all the hoopla, with all the crazy stuff going on in the stadium and during the game, don't worry about it. Take it like it's any other game."

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
