By NEWS9

TYLER COUNTY, W.Va. —

A Tyler County man charged with attempted murder has been indicted by a grand jury.

Howard Shriver was arrested in October by the Sheriff's Office after official said he tried to go after his wife and children with an ax.

Police said Shriver cut the phone and cable lines and chased his wife out of the house before neighbors called police.

One of the victims fled to a nearby field to escape from Shriver, police said.

If convicted, he could face up to 15 years in jail.
