Haunted tours to begin at the Goucher Hotel

By Erica Mokay

JEFFERSON COUNTY, OH---

The Goucher Haunted Hotel in Toronto has been scaring visitors for 4 years.
Established in 1895, the hotel is named after Mr. Goucher.  Artistic producing director of the haunted hotel, Buster Bowman, said legend has it that Goucher, his wife and daughter Sarah still make their presence known throughout the hotel.
"There’s a good chance you might see something that was not rehearsed or planned," said Bowman.
If that doesn't give you the chills perhaps the scare tactics used throughout the hotel will.
All the creepy music, flashing lights, and pops are enough to make anyone jump.
Once the hotel officially opens guests will get to experience even more of a thrill. Around 50 actors will be hiding throughout the entire 45 minute haunted experience.
Bowman said, "if we're not scaring you, you're going to be laughing so you're either going to pee your pants cause you're laughing or you're gonna pee your pants because you're scared and if we do both then we really did a great job."
Bowman said, this year's theme is completely different from last years, so there's a surprise around every corner. Literally.
You'll have to experience all the sights and secrets of the Goucher Haunted Hotel yourself, and if you do, you're in for a good time, a good scare and a good cause.
"It's a way that we get to help the community.  We have an all volunteer crew here and it's a way that they can help the community… it's just by getting together here and scaring their friends."
WTOV9 is proud to partner with the Goucher Haunted Hotel to raise money to benefit coats for kids.
If you do dare to enter the haunted hotel, tours will run every Friday and Saturday from 6 till 11 until November 3.
There are also "lights on" tours scheduled from 2 until 4 on Sundays.
Tickets are $10 and proceeds go to WTOV9's Coats for Kids.
