HEAP application assistance available to Belmont Co. seniors

BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio --

 

Senior Services of Belmont County, a division of the county's Department of Job and Family Services, will assist people older than 60 in completing their Home Energy Assistance Program applications.

 

In order to complete HEAP applications, people must bring proof of income for all residents in the home who are older than 18, their social security number, all residents' birthdates and copies of their most recent utility bills.

 

People older than 60 who are unable to leave their home can call their local senior center to schedule in-home assistance to fill out the HEAP application.

 

The department will provide HEAP application assistance at the following senior centers during these times:

 

Barnesville Senior Center -- 229 East Main St. in Barnesville, (740) 425-9101. Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

 

Bellaire Senior Center -- 3396 Belmont St. in Bellaire (in Carnes Apartments), (740) 676-9473. Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

 

Bethesda Senior Center -- 118 S. Main St. in Bethesda, (740) 484-1416. Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

 

Centerville Senior Center -- 46642 Main St. in Jacobsburg, (740) 686-9832. Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

 

Colerain Senior Center -- 72581 US Route 250 in Colerain (St. Francis Cabrini Church Social Hall), (740) 633-6823. 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

 

Flushing Senior Center -- 201 High St. in Flushing (Flushing Christian Church, lower level), (740) 968-2525. Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

 

Martins Ferry Senior Center -- 14 N. Fifth St. in Martins Ferry, (740) 633-3146. Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

 

Powhatan Senior Center -- 97 Main Street in Powhatan Point, (740) 795-4350. Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

 

St. Clairsville Senior Center -- 101 N. Market St. in St. Clairsville (behind the courthouse), (740) 695-1944. Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
