Heroin Seized From LaBelle Neighborhood

Steubenville police said a series of search warrants yielded over 100 units of heroin and thousands of dollars in cash.

Police seized 130 units of heroin and $2,500 in cash after searching three homes on the 100 block of Wildon Avenue in the LaBelle section Thursday night.

Later that same night, narcotics officers from Steubenville, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department, and Toronto Police were on the same street searching more homes.

It was unclear which searches were connected to the drug finds. Friday morning, police would not release from which home or homes the drugs were seized.

Steubenville police officials said the investigation is ongoing but more information was expected to be released Friday afternoon.
