HANCOCK COUNTY, W.Va. —

The last of 10 horses seized by Hancock County authorities during a drug investigation are now in permanent homes.

County authorities alerted the public that they would have to euthanize three horses with special needs if they could not find homes for them by winter. A massive effort among the community helped to place them in homes.

The last two were moved to a farm in Rayland on Friday afternoon.

Dog warden Nicole Busick said the transport went smoothly and the horses are all content in their new homes.
