BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio —

A man wanted on felony burglary charges in Marshall County was arrested Tuesday in Belmont County thanks to medical staff who notified police.

Officials said John Duley, 26, of Moundsville, was receiving medical treatment at Belmont Community Hospital in Bellaire. Duley was arrested Tuesday night when medical personnel notified police that Duley was released.

Bellaire Police Chief Mike Kovalyk stressed the importance of cooperation between the Bellaire Police Department, Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and the Belmont Community Hospital in capturing Duley.

Duley was arrested and transported to the Belmont County Jail.  While police were booking Duley, authorities found three additional warrants out of Belmont County for failure to appear and theft charges.

Duley will await extradition to Marshall County on a felony charge of burglary.

Kovalyk said there have been an increasing number of suspects arrested with multiple warrants from multiple jurisdictions, which brings up the issue of compensating the arresting agency.
