I-70 Back Open After Tractor Trailer Crash

A tractor trailer crashed Wednesday, spilling it load of beef on Interstate 70 near the West Virginia and Pennsylvania border.

The road is open after being shutdown for hours.

Around 5 p.m. on Wednesday both westbound lanes of Interstate 70 had to be shutdown while the driver of the truck was airlifted to a Pittsburgh hospital.

Pennsylvania State Police said the truck was traveling in the eastbound lane of the road when the driver lost control, crossed over the westbound lane and rolled into the embankment.

The truck spilled its load of fresh beef between the West Alexander and Claysville exits.

Troopers said the driver may have been speeding.

There's no word on if the driver will be cited or his condition, but troopers said his injuries are not life-threatening.
