I-70 Lanes In Belmont County Reopen To Traffic

The westbound lanes along a five mile stretch of Interstate 70 in Belmont County reopened to traffic Friday afternoon after being closed for several months.

The Ohio Department of Transportation said the stretch included exits 206-211.

ODOT officials told NEWS9 the road project was on budget but cold weather delayed the reopening by a week. Construction on the eastbound lanes is scheduled to start back up in the spring and be completed by Oct. 31, 2011.

According to ODOT, the westbound rest areas will open tentatively the week of Jan. 10.
