BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio —

Two women are recovering from injuries Saturday after their car went airborne and crashed in Belmont County, according to troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Troopers said Tracy Andrews, 27, of Barnesville, was driving southbound on State Route 800 in Somerton with passenger Lisa Baker, 45, of Barnesville.

Andrews lost control on the icy road and slid into a guardrail about 9 a.m., and the car went airborne, struck an embankment and overturned against a tree, troopers said.

First responders with Somerton took them to Ohio Valley Medical Center, and neither has life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

Troopers cited Andrews with failure to control.
