Italian Festival Embezzlement Charges

**EDITOR'S NOTE: It was originally reported in this story that Linda Delelles was a former Chairwoman of the Upper Ohio Valley Italian Festival, that is incorrect. We would like to clarify that Delelles is a former employee of the festival.***

An embezzlement case against the former employee of the Upper Ohio Valley Italian Festival is now in the hands of the court.

Delelles' attorney asked for a continuance in the case. Judge Martin J. Gaughan granted the continuance, arraigned Delelles, and entered a not guilty plea on her behalf.

Delelles is charged with a 20 count indictment primarily revolving around embezzlement and forgery. Specifically she's charged with 7 counts of forgery, 7 counts of uttering, and 6 counts of embezzlement.

The indictment comes after festival officials went to police alledging Delelles helped steal more than 100,000 dollars from the Upper Ohio Valley Italian Festival Scholarship Fund.

Prosecutors say the embezzlement occurred from September of 2003 until October of 2004.

Judge Gaughan continued the bail Delelles has already posted.

September 9th is the tentative trial date.
