Jefferson Co. house fire called suspicious

By Briona Arradondo

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ohio —

Investigators with the state fire marshal's office visited the scene of a Wintersville house fire Saturday and are calling it suspicious.

Firefighters shut down part of Two Ridge Road Friday while they worked to put out the flames.

A man inside managed to escape and call 911, firefighters said.

Investigators said the fire started on the first floor, but they're still examining evidence to find a cause.

Firefighters said they managed to keep the flames under control and save the house.
