Jury deliberating attempted murder case in Jefferson Co.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ohio —


Jurors in Jefferson County are deliberating the case of a man accused in a drive-by shooting in a Steubenville neighborhood.

Antonio Johnson is charged with attempted murder, felonious assault, improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle and having a weapon under a disability.

The charges stem from a July 2, 2012, shooting on Orchard Street. Johnson is accused of firing 17 rounds from a semi-automatic assault rifle then fleeing the scene.

The trial started Tuesday and several witnesses testified for the prosecution Wednesday. The defense rested Thursday morning without calling a single witness.
