Local Agencies Take Part In Drug Take-Back Day

Saturday is National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, where people are asked to safely dispose of their unwanted prescription drugs.

The annual event, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Justice and Drug Enforcement Administration, is aimed at reducing the amount of expired or unused prescription drugs for illegal use.

Locally in Ohio, people can drop off unused prescriptions at the Belmont County Sheriff’s Office, Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office and St. Clair Township Police Department in East Liverpool.

Locally in West Virginia, unwanted prescription drugs can be dropped off at the Brooke County Courthouse, W.Va. State Police headquarters on Eoff Street in Wheeling, City Operations Center on Hunter Avenue in Wheeling, Cameron Police Department in Marshall County and New Martinsville Police Department in Wetzel County.
