WELLSBURG, W.Va. —

West Virginia 1st Judicial Circuit Judge Martin Gaughan is resuming his duties seven months after he suffered a stroke.

The 1st Judicial Circuit covers Brooke, Hancock and Ohio counties.

Gaughan suffered a stroke on Nov. 12, 2011, while in Charleston. He said it's been a long road back, but he's ready to go.

Two senior status judges handled Gaughan's cases in his absence.
