Local School Bus Driver Charged With Child Endangerment

Monroe County, Ohio —

Authorities charged 40-year-old Anita Lafollette with child and patient endangerment.

Lafollette is accused of leaving 20-year-old Dina Prince on a Monroe County Department of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities bus on Jan. 2.

The blind and deaf Monroe County Achievement Center student, with the capabilities of a 3-year-old child, remained alone for hours while the bus was parked on Lafollette's property, according to the school.

Lafollette resigned her bus driving post shortly after the matter was reported.

Lafollette will be arraigned Feb. 6 on the charges. If convicted, Lafollette could spend six months in jail and be fined $1,000.

The girls mother said her daughter is doing okay.
