Bids for water treatment plant opened in Wheeling

By Philip Stahl

WHEELING, W.Va.—

The city of Wheeling is one step closer to starting the construction of a new water treatment plant in Warwood.

Today, the city opened bids from seven contractors looking to win the bid for the project.

On Friday, the apparent low bidder is Shook Construction of Dayton, Ohio. Their bid came in at $30,548,000.

The next step is to have two readings of the bid in front of City Council. A final vote could come as early as April 16.
