BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio —

Police in Belmont County are investigating a shooting that happened early Sunday morning in Brookside.

According to Bridgeport Police Chief Andy Klotz, the shooting happened around 3:30 a.m. He said two suspects were shooting at a car. Fortunately, no one was injured during the shooting.

The shooting happened right next to the Bridgeport Napa Auto Parts store near the intersection of Patterson and National roads, police said.

Bridgeport police as well as the Bureau of Criminal Investigation were still there around noon Sunday collecting evidence and questioning witnesses. Parts of Patterson road were still blocked off as the investigators photographed and collected the shell casings.

Police at the scene tell NEWS9 that nine 9-millimeter rounds were fired at a car, however no one was hurt.

As of noon, police were still looking for the weapon, but Klotz said they already have two suspects in custody. They were found a few hours after the shooting in an apartment one block away on Walnut Street behind Weaver's Barber Shop.

Police said the people who were shot at knew the suspects and that is how police found them.

Ohio State Highway Patrol and the sheriff's office assisted in the case and the investigation is ongoing.
