MOUNDSVILLE, W.Va.—
Police are calling an alleged robbery a bizarre crime.
Sgt. Don Dewitt with Moundsville Police said that a man and woman were eating dinner at a residence behind Stubs Bar, when a man gave the woman a rare request to add Xanax into his green beans.
She then allegedly stole thousands of dollars from his safe after he passed out.
The next thing he remembers is waking up the next morning and not remembering anything.
Friday afternoon, Police arrested Jamie Radick, 42, of Moundsville. She is charged with second-degree robbery.
"This all started when the man came to police headquarters and wasn't talking or walking right. We told him to get medical treatment," said Dewitt.
Dewitt said the next day the man came in to the station and said that he was drugged and robbed of thousands of dollars.
"Apparently they were making chicken and green beans, and she put Xanax in the beans," said Dewitt.
While Radick said the decision to put the medication in the food was consensual, the man denied that.
"We did search her residence and found several coffee cans full of money that belonged to the victim, and several prescription drugs," said Dewitt.
Dewitt said they were able to identify Radick as the suspect after she tried to cover up surveillance tape at the business with a sheet. But, she slipped and her face was shown briefly on camera, leading police to question her.
She remains behind bars, where bond was set at $10,000.
