Columbiana Co. troopers investigate fatal crash

By Philip Stahl

COLUMBIANA COUNTY, Ohio—

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that happened Sunday morning on State Route 558, just south of State Route 46 in Unity Township.

Troopers said the crash happened around 4:45 a.m.

They said that Taylor D. Bilbo, 20, from East Palestine was pronounced dead at the scene by the Columbiana County Coroner’s Office.

They said that Bilbo was driving a red 2007 Chevrolet 1500 truck.

Bilbo was traveling eastbound on Route 558 at a high rate of speed when he lost control, went off the right side of the road and struck a sign and a ditch.

They said that Bilbo’s car became airborne, overturned several times ejecting Bilbo.

The car eventually landed on its roof in a shallow creek.

The crash remains under investigation by the State Patrol.
