WHEELING, W.Va. —

Wheeling City Council will make its decisions known this Tuesday on a cruiser ordinance that is the only law of its kind in the United States.

Since the 1970s, police are required to have two officers in each car when out patrolling. It was an ordinance that was passed by the voters and has to be rescinded by the voters if they want to get rid of it.

The council is simply voting Tuesday to put the issue on the ballot. After that, they have no control on the matter.
