COLUMBIANA COUNTY, Ohio


Columbiana County humane agent Jane Palmer said someone decapitated a dog on Hazel Run Road in Salineville on Monday.

Palmer said a neighbor found the dog near railroad tracks.

Palmer said she found out about it lateWednesday evening. She said the dog's body was found in the same vicinity where someone shot and hanged a puppy near Clarks Mill Road in December.

In February, a passerby spotted two dogs shot in the face and dumped along Brush Creek Township Road 54.

Palmer said she believes the incidents are connected. While investigators do have a person of interest, they are asking for the public's help in making an arrest.

A $1,700 reward is being offered to anyone who has information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.
