Investigators search for men involved in alleged home invasion

By Kelly Camarote

NEWELL, W.Va. -- A victim of a home invasion in Hancock County spoke to NEWS9 about the attack Tuesday as investigators continued looking for the men responsible.

Raymond Wylie told NEWS9's Kelly Camarote that he woke up to a gun being jammed to his forehead and the attacker screaming, "Give me your money."

"I don't have no idea who it was because I couldn't get a look at them or nothing," said Wylie. "He was just some nut job."

The alleged incident happened Saturday at 430 Grant St. Hancock County Sheriff Mike White said while Wylie fought off the attack upstairs, Nancy Church awoke from her sleep on a couch in the living room to screams.

"She heard the noise upstairs. She thought he was having a nightmare or something, so she went into the dining room area to start up to the upstairs and she looked into the kitchen and there was another guy in the kitchen area," said White. "She screamed at him and told him she was going to call 911. He pulled his T-shirt up over his face and then exited the rear of the residence. She called 911 and then the other guy ran down the steps and he took off."

"It was a crazy person," said Wylie. "I just thank the Lord that I came out alive."
