Radio Problems On The Mend In Harrison Co.

By Kelly Camarote

HARRISON COUNTY, Ohio —

Radio problems in Harrison County are affecting police, fire and EMS crews. The problems started Monday night at the Harrison County dispatch center.

Sheriff Ron Myers said they started hearing static on the line. One frequency sounded like crickets, and another frequency reportedly sounded like running water.

Myers said technicians have narrowed down the issue to a problem with the Deersville microwave site.

“We have radio people out there at our site in Deersville trying to correct the problem. They were here early this morning about 7:30 to work on it,” Myers said.

Radio traffic has been able to go through, but the sheriff said he wants to fix the problem at the Deersville site to make sure their coverage is up to par.
