Wheeling Police make burglary arrest

By Philip Stahl

WHEELING, W.Va.—

The Wheeling Police Department has arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with several burglaries that happened the weekend of Oct. 20 in the Woodsdale section of the city.

Police served warrants to Dasere T. Bryant at the Northern Regional Jail Wednesday morning. Police Chief Shawn Schwertfeger said that Bryant had already been incarcerated in the jail on unrelated burglary charges, and is now charged with two counts of burglary and one count of attempted burglary.

Bryant allegedly burglarized homes on Hamilton Avenue, Lynwood Avenue, and Birch Avenue during the nighttime hours on Oct. 20.

Police said that when Bryant was arrested on Oct. 27, they found numerous items that appeared to be stolen property.

Schwertfeger said that the investigation is continuing and additional charges against Bryant are possible.
