Steubenville, OH —

Sixth Ward City Councilman David Lalich has announced that he will step down when his current term ends.

Lalich has served the city's west end for 16 years. On Tuesday night, he talked to NEWS9 about his decision.

"I've served four terms and I think it's time for me to move on and do other things and maybe some younger people will have a chance to come in with some more ideas, some good ideas," said Lalich.

Lalich says he wants to stay active in the community and will be looking to do some volunteer work once his time with council is over.
