WINTERSVILLE, Ohio —
After 26 1/2 years on the job, Trooper Dave Decker is retiring from the Ohio State Highway Patrol's Wintersville post.
Decker said he is looking forward to the next chapter in his life but said Friday is bittersweet, and there are certain things he will miss.
"Working with the guys, meeting a lot of the public … as far as the changes in the patrol, they are still to come, and that's one thing I will not miss," Decker said.
Decker's last day on the job will come to an end around 1 p.m. After that, he said he plans to spend time with his family and work on his farm.
