Man accused of putting bomb-like device under woman’s car pleads guilty

By NEWS9

BROOKE COUNTY, W.Va. —

A man accused of trying to use a bomb-like device to injure an alleged sexual assault victim pleaded guilty Thursday in Brooke County Court.

Brian Sandreth, 48, pleaded guilty to conspiracy. Sandreth will be placed on house arrest for a year then be on parole.

The charge stems to a sexual assault in the Windsor Heights section of the county. In July 2010, investigators said, Sandreth tried to place the device under a car that belonged to the victim’s mother.

In court, the victim in the case said she agreed to the plea and wanted the case to be settled.
