A Jefferson County man is facing numerous charges after an incident that began when he allegedly smashed a glass over his own head.
Police said they responded to a home on Commercial Avenue in Mingo Junction and found Jay Martin drunk and bleeding.
When police offered to help him, they said Martin refused treatment and became unruly with officers.
Police said Martin kicked one of them, and officers used pepper spray to control the situation.
Martin is charged with assault and resisting arrest, among other charges.
