COLUMBIANA COUNTY, Ohio —

Police have arrested a man who they believe is connected to a slew of daytime break-ins in Columbiana County.

Ten homes in East Liverpool were burglarized over about the last two months. The crimes happened on Marcus Street, St. Clair Avenue and in the downtown area.

David Sisco was arrested on Tuesday as the prime suspect, police said. As of Wednesday morning, Sisco was being held on charges of receiving stolen property but police said he will most likely face additional charges.

East Liverpool Police Chief John Lane said officials recovered some of the property and through their investigation there were "different things that pointed to (Sisco)."

Officials said, among other clues, Sisco was wearing a pair of recognizable shoes that were reported stolen from one of the homes.

Police said the crimes happened in the daytime and items like jewelry, laptops and firearms were also stolen. None of the firearms had been recovered as of Wednesday.

Lane said officials believe Sisco was committing burglaries in working class neighborhoods, where people typically aren't home during the day.

In each case, either the door was kicked in or the burglar entered the home through an open window.

"Recently he carried a ladder and went through a side window. No one saw it (or) called it in. They didn't find it until they came home from work," Lane said.

Police said they don't think the burglar acted alone and said they plan to make more arrests as the investigation moves forward. Lane said officials have been working hard on the investigation for quite some time and said Sisco's arrest was the break they needed to help put a stop to the break-ins.
