Man arrested for firing shots at mailboxes

WETZEL COUNTY, W.Va. –

The Wetzel County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man early Thursday morning.

Chief Deputy Rob Haught tells NEWS9 that James Palmer was riding in a car on Eight Ridge firing a 12-gauge shotgun at numerous mailboxes.

Palmer is facing a wanton endangerment charge with a firearm.

He remains in the Northern Regional Jail where bond has been set at $5,000.
