BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio —

A Monroe County man is charged in connection with the burglary of a Belmont County pharmacy.

Orville Dale Baughman III, 25,  of Clarington, was arrested Wednesday night at his home. Police said he was in possession of most, if not all, of the prescription drugs stolen from the Powhatan Health Center.

Baughman is in the Belmont County Jail with bail set at $17,000 on charges of breaking and entering, theft, aggravated menacing, criminal trespassing and possession of drugs.

The health center was burglarized around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday. Officials said the thief was able to take advantage of renovations at the business to gain entry.

Powhatan Police Chief Joshua Haught said the thief stole a ladder from a neighboring yard, set it up against the building and entered through a hole in the roof.
