Man falls from roof of courthouse

By Kate Davison

CAMBRIDGE, Ohio —

It was a life-threatening situation for a man in Guernsey County on Thursday morning. Officials said he was working on a construction project when he fell 50 feet to the pavement.

It happened at the Guernsey County courthouse in Cambridge.

Guernsey County Sheriff Mike McCauley said it happened just before 9 a.m.

Keith Casto slipped and fell off the roof of the courthouse.

McCauley said he struck a car on the way to the ground.

He was immediately transported to an area hospital before being flown by helicopter to Grant Medical Center in Columbus.

McCauley said Casto was wearing a safety harness, but he didn't appear to be tied or strapped to it. It's still unclear what he was doing when he fell.

NEWS9 called Grant Medical Center. Officials said Casto is still in an intensive care unit.
