By Kate Davison and  NEWS9

BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio —

A man who previously pleaded guilty to crimes associated with a Belmont County pharmacy break-in was sentenced to 18 months in prison.

Orville "Dale" Baughman III, 26, of Clarington, had pleaded guilty to felony charges of theft and breaking and entering. Baughman was sentenced Friday morning by Judge John Solovan II.

Baughman was arrested and charged in October on suspicion of breaking into the Powhatan Health Center.

Police said he entered through a hole in the roof before he tripped a security alarm. Baughman admitted he stole prescription drugs to feed his addiction and told the judge in open court he knows he has a drug problem and is seeking help.

Solovan noted an extensive juvenile and adult record  before handing down Baughman's sentence.

He was also ordered to pay restitution to the pharmacy.
