TUSCARAWAS COUNTY, Ohio —

A man who coached and refereed for local youth basketball teams is in the Tuscarawas County Jail facing child pornography charges.

Sheriff Walter Wilson said deputies arrested 32-year-old Thomas E. Wright at a home in Gnadenhutten on Friday after a secret indictment.

Investigators said Wright used a cellphone to make a home video of a boy who was 16 years old at the time.

According to a news release, he previously coached for Riverview and Indian Valley schools, as well as for the local Amateur Athletic Union basketball teams.

The release stated that, "Even after the execution of the search warrant and interview, Thomas Wright continued to put himself in the position of coaching and having close contact with juvenile males."

According to a news release from the Tuscarawas County Sheriff's Office, the investigation began in February 2011.

Wright remains in jail pending his arraignment.
