Workers have started building the second floor to a five-story Marriott Springhill Suites in the Woodsdale Plateau area.
The owner of the Bedway Development Corporation Jonathan Bedway said, "We've been working on this for several years and we are excited to bring this to Wheeling."
Bedway said the hotel with 115 rooms and an indoor pool will definitely be an asset to the city, especially during holidays and special events.
Bedway said they may also plan on building a restaurant and strip mall on the site.
Construction should be complete on the $8 million to $10 million project by Fall 2007.
