Marshall Co. fire investigation under way

By Philip Stahl

CAMERON, W.Va.—

Firefighters with the Cameron Volunteer Fire Department are investigating a fire that broke out around 4 a.m. at the Carnation Place Apartments.

According to Chief Brian Marling, a couch was on fire in one of the apartments. No one was hurt as all residents were evacuated.

Marling said that the fire was contained to that one apartment and there was a lot of smoke and water damage.

Firefighters will continue to investigate the cause today.

The building has been reopened for residents.
