The second meth lab bust in three days was made Friday in Monroe County, according to the Woodsfield Police Department.

Police said they made the discovery just two days after a bust in Barnesville, Belmont County.

Police say they got to the home at 205 1/2 Roy St. just after 11:30 a.m. Friday to make a warrant arrest, but while they were there they made the discovery.

Chief Chuck Hamilton of the Woodsfield Police Department said 21-year-old Josh McGary and 23-year-old Misty Lambert were wanted out of Licking County Ohio, after being accused of the illegal assembly and possession of chemicals used for manufacturing drugs.

"While we were in the home and on the property, we discovered items that were used consistent with the production of methamphetamine," said Hamilton.

That's when Hamilton decided to call in the The Columbus Narcotics and Methamphetamine Team. He said the team found the meth lab in the garage.

The chief said the case remains under investigation, but made note of the great work of the Woodsfield Police Department and the Monroe County probation officer.

He said more people could have been injured if it wasn't for their vigilance.

"Any of the meth labs, any of the cooking for the illegal drugs, always poses a risk of fire explosion," said Hamilton.

The chief said the case will be turned over to the prosecutor's office, but added that he expects McGary to be charged with manufacturing methamphetamine.
