Movie shoot involving big time actors, actress happening in Ohio Valley

MOUNDSVILLE, W.Va. –

Officials with Relativity Media have announced to NEWS9 that scenes for the upcoming movie “Out of the Furnace” are being shot at the Former West Virginia Penitentiary in Moundsville.

The movie, starting Christian Bale, Casey Affleck, Zoe Saldana and Sam Shepherd is in the beginning stages of production.

In Moundsville, officials told NEWS9’s Philip Stahl that a jail scene was being shot with 200-300 extras as inmates.

Filming will continue Friday at the Penitentiary. Look for continuing coverage on NEWS9 and wtov9.com.
