Multi-County Homicide Investigation Under Way

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ohio —

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a homicide after a body was found in Mount Pleasant.

The discovery came around 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

The victim has been identified as a man.

The county sheriff said the body was discovered in a container off of Seminary Road. It’s believed the slaying took place in Belmont County. Officials can’t elaborate on how they know the location of the killing.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department and Belmont County Sheriff’s Department are now working together on this investigation.
