Murder Victim's Daughter Remembers Mom As 'Life Of The Party'

For the first time since her mother’s death two months ago, Ashley Gregware is speaking out about her mother as a person, not as a murder victim.

“She did everything in the world for me. And now it's my turn to do the same for her," said Gregware. "She was a very strong woman. She never let anything get her down. She was always the life of the party."

State Police charged Todd Dolin with the July 18 murder. Officers said Dolin walked into the Dallas Post Office in Marshall County and fatally shot Wolverton.

"We still talk about her and have laughs about her and tell stories about stuff that she's done, and stuff that she would have done if she was there," Gregware said.

Gregware said her mother loved Jamboree in the Hills, snuck backstage at a racing event, and was always the social butterfly of the group. But good memories haven't taken away the pain of losing her mother.

"I miss my mom. I do. She was my best friend,” she said.

Gregware’s found strength through other family members. Wolverton also had a 16-year-old son, two sisters, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

"She was my straight arrow, she was my rock, she gave me comfort, she gave me guidance. And I miss all of that about my mother. I don't have that anymore and it's hard to know what to do when you lose that person in your life," she said.

Todd Dolin is charged with aggravated murder and is in the Northern Regional Jail waiting to see a Marshall County grand jury in November. Gregware plans to be at each of his court appearances until justice is served.
